In the Zurich area, Andreas Benz from Fahr-Erlebnis is working on converting his apple orchard from conventional to organic farming. Here we are implementing targeted measures to strengthen both the flora and fauna of the plantation and to increase biodiversity.
An exciting and very diverse mission!
A wild hedge will be planted on the northern edge of the plantation, which will serve as a source of food for pollinators such as wild bees and at the same time act as a networking element for small mammals such as weasels. In addition, we are building two weasel castles made of stone and wood, which will provide valuable habitats for these small predators. A natural fence planted with hops and ivy, as well as piles of branches and stones, will create additional habitats and serve as a networking element for the small mammals.
With this commitment, you are making an important contribution to preserving nature and at the same time creating a habitat that supports important beneficial organisms. Be part of this project and help us to shape the future of the apple orchard in a sustainable and ecological way.
