Together for a greener future: The Sika campaign “Tüffenwies Alive”
What was done?
Over a period of four days, 40 dedicated Sika employees used their full skills to ecologically improve the area around the Sika Tüffenwies. A total of 300 plants were planted along the Limmat to form a 100-meter-long hedge, which will soon provide a home and food for numerous animal species such as weasels, hedgehogs, lizards and birds.
On the other side of the site, towards Altstetten, an impressive 16 tons of gravel were moved to create a species-rich ruderal area. To do this, the nutrient-rich soil had to be removed from an area of around 25 square meters. The area was then filled with gravel, which meant lots of shoveling, strenuous transport with the shovelers and tired muscles in the evening.
What was achieved?
This event is a great example of how the commitment of companies and their employees brings benefits on various levels. Not only does it strengthen the sense of community, it also creates ecological added value and provides a habitat for countless animals. In addition, the company strengthens its relationship with the neighborhood by creating added value for everyone.
We would like to thank the motivated Sika team. At the end of the 4 days, everyone was tired but happy about what they had achieved!
